Fine Art Photography

Originating from the city of Uruapan, Michoacan, Installation Artist/Photographer Jesus Alexandre has developed a unique style of art photography that involves staging scenes with the use of people, props, body paint and light. His photographs evoke strong reactions, as they are both political and cultural, identifying modern issues affecting the indigenous P'urhepecha peoples.Alexandre's works Espiritu de Michoacan (Spirits of Michoacan) have been exhibited in many Day of the Dead festivals as well as the International Morelia Music Festival and the Museum of Mexican Art in Chicago.

In the fall of 2017, Alexandre embarked on his very first international tour, working in Spain, Austria, Germany and the Netherlands as a hybrid, performing artist. His work introduced many in Europe to Dia de los Muertos, and allwoed them spontaneous involvement in his photographic installations.

Alexandre's passion for art and life result in powerful pieces of fine art that are exciting, political, humorous, powerful and informative. If you are interested in prints by this artist, please contact us.
